Bye – elections to South Kolkata Parliamentary constituency in West Bengal and eight other assembly constituencies in five states passed off peacefully on Wednesday. Over 52 per cent of votes were cast in South Kolkata Parliamentary constituency which fell vacant after the resignation of Mamta Banerjee.In Bihar, 55 per cent of voting was recorded in LAUKAHA constituency and in Haryana, 75.79 per cent of polling was recorded in Ratia and 81.81 per cent in Adampur. In Himachal Pradesh, 80.66 per cent was recorded in Nalgarh assembly constituency and 73.99 at Renuka. Umorkote reserved constituency in Odisha. Mandu seat in Jharkhand and Bellary rural assembly in Karnataka also went to polls.
