The Election Commission has announced bye-election to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies on May 8th. Releasing schedule, State Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal said the notification would be issued on April 11th and last date for nominations would be April 18. Scrutiny would be held on the following day and last date for withdrawal of nominations would be on April 21st. Counting of votes would be held on 13th of May. The CEO said the Commission is fully prepared to conduct bye elections to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly segments. These seats fall vacant following resignation of Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and his mother Vijaya Lakshmi to Pulivendual Assembly segment. Bye elections are also being held to Bastar Lok Sabha seat in Chattisgarh and Pipraich and Aonglenden Assembly segments in Uttar Pradesh and Nagaland.
