Ruling Party candidates have won or taken unassailable lead over their rival candidates in the bye elections to four Lok Sabha and eight Assembly Constituencies by-polls, spread across six states and one Union Territory. <br/><br/>In West Bengal, ruling Trinamool Congress candidate Dibyendu Adhikari has won Tamluk Lok Sabha seat defeating his nearest CPI(M) rival Mandira Panda by over 4.97 lakh votes. In Cooch Behar Lok Sabha seat, Partha Pratim of TMC was leading over his BJP rival Hem Chandra Burman. TMC candidate Saikat Panja won the Monteswar Assembly bypoll defeating his nearest CPIM rival Md Osman Gani Sarkar. <br/><br/>In Assam, the BJP candidates were leading in Lakhimpur Lok Sabha and Baithalangsu Assembly seats. At Lakhimpur, Pradan Baruah was leading by over 2 lakh votes against his nearest Congress rival while at Baithalangso Mansing Rongpi was also leading by nearly five thousand votes, when reports last came in. <br/> <br/>In Madhya Pradesh, ruling BJP candidate and State minister Gyan Singh had clear cut lead margin of more than fifty thousand votes over his nearest rival congress candidate Miss Himadri Dalbir Singh when reports last came in. Similarly, in the Nepanagar assembly constituency, BJP candidate Manju Rajendra Dadu was leading with more than forty thousand votes over congress candidate Antar Singh Barde. <br/><br/>In Tripura, ruling CPI(M) led Left Front won both the assembly constituencies, Barjala and Khowai bye elections. CPI(M) snatched Barjala seat from Congress. Interestingly, BJP also performed well by advancing its position to the 2nd, compared to 2013 assembly polls. CPI(M) contestant Biswajit Datta secured 24810 votes to win Khowai seat, a CPI(M) bastion for long years.<br/><br/>In Puducherry, Chief Minister and Congress candidate V Narayanasamy has won the Nellithoppe by-poll with a margin of 11,144 votes. He secured 18709 votes, while his nearest rival and AIADMK candidate Om Sakthi Sekar could muster only 7565 votes. AIR correspondent reports that none among the other six candidates could claim more than a two digit figure.<br/><br/>In Tamil Nadu, ruling AIADMK has swept the polls held in three Assembly constituencies Thanjavur, Aravakurichi and Tiruparakundram. AIADMK has won the Thanjavur seat and have taken winning lead in the other two constituencies.
