<span style="color: #222222;">By-Election for two seats of Maharashtra's Legislative Council will be held this month.<br />'' <br />'' The two vacancies have resulted post the election of Tanaji Jaywant Sawant and Dhananjay Munde to the state's legislative assembly in October last year.<br />'' <br />'' The Election Commission has informed that notification for the by-poll will be issued on 7th of this month while nominations can be filed upto 14th January.<br />'' <br />'' Nominations will be scrutinised on 15th and the names can be withdrawn till 17th January.<br />'' <br />'' Voting for Dhananjay Munde's seat will be held on 24th January and the counting will be taken up after the close of poll.<br />'' <br />'' Voting for Yavatmal Local Authorities' Constituency, currently occupied by Sawant, will be held on 31st January and the counting will be taken up on 4th of next month.<br />'' <br />'' While Sawant's term will expire on 5th December 2022, Mr. Munde's predecessor will have to demit office on 7th July 2022.<br />'' <br />'' </span><br />
