The BWF Japan Open Super Series Badminton tournament kicked off in Tokyo, with the qualification matches being played today. The main draw of the competition will begin from tomorrow. All the Indian shuttlers have made it to the main draw. India's challenge will be spearheaded by PV Sindhu. Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal decided to give the tournament a miss after hectic Indian Badminton League and ParuPalli Kashyap skipped the Japan Open due to ankle injury. Besides P.V Sindhu, Tanvi Lad is the other Indian shuttler in the Women's Singles main draw. Ajay Jayaram, Srikanth K, Sai Praneeth, Sourabh Verma, HS Prannoy and Anand Pawar are the Indians shuttlers who have already made it to the Men's Singles main draw. The Indian duo of Manu Attri and Sumeeth B Reddy is featuring in the Men's Doubles section.
