Over one thousand business heads from Germany are to visit India next year to explore and enhance bilateral business ties in various sectors. Talking to newsmen in New Delhi on Friday on the inaugural of the Year of Germany in India, German Ambassador Thomas Matussek said, the focus will be on the problems of urbanization besides climate change, environment, cultural relations and educational policy. He said that India and Germany share same set of values and believe in inclusive growth rather than competing with each other. The Ambassador said that German hi-tech and Indian brains will find solutions to the challenges posed by rapid urbanization. He said that through several events in seven mega cities of India, the potential of Indo-German cooperation will be showcased.German Minister of State Ms. Cornelia Pieper said that the two countries have been reliable partners in all fields of bilateral cooperation for six decades. She said the Year of Germany in India is not only a 15 month celebration, it is also an opportunity to explore new fields of cooperation.AIR correspondent reports, this year, Germany and India celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations. The two nations enjoy a strategic partnership since the year 2000. The event has been inaugurated simultaneously across seven cities, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
