Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) has announced that the Bushehr nuclear power plant has joined the country’s energy grid.According to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, the power plant is currently capable of producing 60 mega watts of electricity. Iran’s nuclear officials announced that the official ceremony to inaugurate the power plant will be held on 12 September. The connection of the Russian-built plant in southern Iran to the national grid was originally scheduled for the end of 2010 but was delayed several times because of technical problems.
