Three buses carrying Sri Lankan pilgrims returning from Velankanni Christian shrine were attacked by a group of unidentified persons at Kattur near Tiruchirapalli today. Police sources told AIR Trichy correspondent that one hundred and eighty four Lankan pilgrims were returning from Velankanni shrine to Trichy by seven tourist buses. The window panes of the buses were fully damaged. However, nobody is injured and they have been brought safely to Trichy airport.
