In Uttar Pradesh, at least 22 members of a marriage party were drowned in Pahuj river in Jalaun district. Nearly 40 persons were saved by local people and the administration. The District Superintendent of Police, Prem Kumar Gautam told AIR this morning that the marriage party was on the way to the district from Muraina district of neighbouring Madhya Pradesh. The mishap happened when the bus fell in the river late Tuesday night, in Madhav Garh. The deceased were from Madhya Pradesh and includes nearly 10 children and youths.
