Bus catches fire in Andhra Pradesh, 35 dead

In Andhra Pradesh, at least 35 people were burnt to death, after a private bus caught fire at Kothakota Palem in Mahboobnagar District early on Wednesday morning. The bus was coming from Bangalore to Hyderabad. Officials said, the incident occurred when the bus hit a culvert on the national highway and later its oil tanker burst. District Collector Girija Shankar told reporters that the exact number of deceased is yet to be ascertained, as the list of passengers is awaited. Only seven persons, including the bus driver, managed to escape with burn injuries. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
