Burdwan blast: Police arrests another 2 persons in WB

In West Bengal, police today arrested another two persons in connection with the blast at Burdwan district. They were caught from Ketugram of the Burdwan district yesterday. Both the persons will be produced before the court today. With this, six persons have been arrested in connection with the blast so far.
Meanwhile, National Investigating Agency, NIA, will file an FIR today in connection with the recent blast at Burdwan district of West Bengal. The Centre issued notification on NIA probe into the incident in which two persons were killed in an explosion at Kharagarh in Burdwan on the 2nd of this month. The Union Home Ministry took the decision to hand over the probe considering the international ramification of the case where some Bangladeshi nationals were allegedly involved.

Our Kolkata correspondent reports that West Bengal government earlier initiated CID probe over the incident which faced lot of criticism from different circles including opposition parties. They demanded NIA probe over the whole episode.

The state government has termed the Centre's decision as unilateral. The Secretary General of the ruling Trinamool Congress and state Education Minister Partho Chatterjee said in Kolkata yesterday that the Centre's step is against federal structure of the country, since the law and order is a state subject. He said that the role of CID to investigate the case is praiseworthy.
