National Investigation Agency, NIA and West Bengal CID conducted searches at several places in the state in connection with the October 2nd Burdwan blast. An official release said, the searches were conducted at places including the rented residence of deceased Shakil in Beldanga, Murshidabad yesterday.

During searches, certain incriminating documents and metal pieces used in making IEDs have been recovered. The team also initiated a thorough search of the Simulia Madrasa. It said, the questioning of arrested accused by NIA continued yesterday in cooperation with WB CID. Based on preliminary investigation three persons were summoned in Chennai for questioning by NIA.

The NIA has denied reports appearing in certain section of media that the West Bengal Police and CID are not cooperating in the ongoing investigation.
