Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pune in Maharashtra, today. He will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation various projects worth over 22 thousand 600 crore rupees. Mr Modi will flag off the Metro train scheduled to run from the District court to Swargate, Pune.
In line with his commitment to make India self-reliant in the field of Supercomputing technology, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation three indigenously developed PARAM Rudra Supercomputers under the National Supercomputing Mission.
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate a High-Performance Computing system tailored for weather and climate research. This project represents an investment of 850 crore rupees, marking a significant leap in India’s computational capabilities for meteorological applications.

In Jammu and Kashmir, a voter turnout of 57.03 percent was recorded in the second phase of Assembly polls yesterday. The Election Commission said, voting was held for 26 Assembly Constituencies spread across 6 districts , peacefully without any incident of violence. The six districts that went to polls in the second phase are – Budgam, Ganderbal, Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi and Srinagar.
As per the Election Commission data, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi seat recorded the highest voter turnout with 80.74 percent, followed by Surankote at 74.95 percent and Poonch Haveli at 74.66 percent. Among the districts, Reasi topped at 74.70 percent with Poonch district a close second at 73.80 percent.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has extended hearty congratulations to the voters of the second phase of Assembly Elections for turning out in large numbers to exercise their franchise yesterday.
Chief Election Commission, Rajiv Kumar said that the elections in Jammu and Kashmir are history in the making as voters have embraced democratic process over violence and boycott.
Mr Kumar lauded the voters and said the second phase turnout is a resounding statement of their belief in democracy.
The voting for 40 seats in third and final phase will be held on 1st October while counting of votes will be held on 8th October.

Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is set to start his campaign, today, for the Haryana Assembly Elections from Karnal District. Earlier yesterday, Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi addressed the Janashirwad rally at Gohana in Sonipat in favour of BJP candidates from 22 assembly constituencies. Mr. Modi said Haryana has made it’s place among top states in sectors like industry and agriculture under the BJP government and the support for BJP is increasing day by day in Haryana.

The Out-of-Pocket expenditure in total health expenditure has declined from 64.2 per cent in 2013-14 to 39.4 per cent in 2021-22 in the country. The Union Health Ministry, yesterday, released the National Health Account estimates for year 2020-21 and 2021-22. Speaking on the report, NITI Aayog Member, Dr V K Paul said that the decline in Out-of-Pocket expenditure reflects a very positive indicator.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall and thunderstorms over parts of Maharashtra during next two days. Heavy rainfall disrupted normal life in Mumbai and its neighbouring areas, yesterday.
“Heavy rain battered Mumbai and its neighboring areas yesterday. Several low-lying areas of the city have been inundated. At least 14 incoming flights were diverted due to the heavy rains and thunderstorms. Several trains also had to be halted due to the rain. The incessant downpour caused a landslide on the Mumbra bypass in Thane that resulted in a traffic jam in the area. The India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mumbai and its adjoining districts Thane, Palghar, and Raigad till 8:30am today.
