At Wimbledon, a five-time champion and the world number two, Venus Williams, has crashed out of the Women's Singles. In London on Tuesday, she was knocked out by unseeded Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in front of a stunned Court One crowd. Pironkova becomes the first Bulgarian woman to reach a Grand Slam semi-final in modern era. Pironkova's semi-final rival will be Russian Vera Zvonareva who upset former world number one Kim Clijsters of Belgium in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. The other semi-final will be played between defending champion Serena Williams and Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic.
