The Budget session of the Maharashtra Legislature began today. The session which began in the shadow of the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state, opposition party leaders walked out from Vidhan Sabha in the very first hour of the proceedings over the issue of the Statutory Development boards for Vidarbha and Marathwada region.<br />''<br />''On the other hand Congress MLAs of the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi entered the premises of the Vidhan Bhavan riding Bicycles to protest against  the hike in Petrol- Diesel prices and the opposition party came down heavily on their protests and termed it as a stunt by the ruling party.<br />'' <br />''AIR correspondent reports, the budget session of Maharashtra Legislature began on a stormy note today as the opposition BJP showed its intention to corner the government and made strong demand to explain the Government's approach about the formation of Statutory Development Boards for Vidarbha and Marathwada.<br />'' <br />''Opposition leader in legislative assembly Devendra Fadnavis alleged that the ruling government is trying to suppress the opposition and depriving them of their rights. BJP MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar continued to raise the issue of development boards.<br />'' <br />''While explaining the stance of the Government about the Statutory Development Boards, Deputy Chief Minister and finance minister Ajit Pawar said that the government is seriously taking steps for the development of these regions and will give the development boards and proper provision will be made for them during this budget. At the same time he pointed out towards the pending announcement about the appointment of 12 MLAs by the Governor and said that as soon as the announcement is made by the Governor, the state government will also move forward towards the establishment of the development boards.  As there was no concrete stand by the government to fulfill the demand of the opposition party, BJP members staged walk out from the house. <br />''<b><i><u> </u></i></b><br />''In Gujarat, a month-long budget session of the state Assembly begins today. Apart from the Governor's address, the obituary for departed members of the house and other dignitaries also passed in the house on the first day today. The budget estimates will be presented on March 5. When Governor Shri V P Singh Badnore started addressing the state legislature, the MLAs of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) started raising the farmer's issue obstructing his address. SAD and LIP MLAs questioned the governor, why the bills regarding farm laws passed in Punjab Vidhansabha were not sent to the President of India. The MLAs of three parties went to the well and continued raising slogans showing posters.
