The Budget session of Parliament will start from 31st of this month. In a press release, Lok Sabha secretariat said President will address a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament in the Central Hall at 11 AM on the first day of the session.<br/><br/>Subject to exigencies of government business, the session is likely to conclude on the 12th of April. Rajya Sabha secretariat has also issued a similar notification saying President Pranab Mukherjee has summoned the Rajya Sabha to meet on 31st of January.<br/><br/>The two houses will have a month long recess from 10th February to 8th March to enable the Standing Committees to consider the Demands for Grants of Ministries and Departments and prepare their Reports.<br/>The announcement comes even as opposition parties have raised objections to the presentation of the budget on 1st of February before Assembly polls in five states. They had filed a petition to the election commission and claimed that it will influence the voters in poll-bound states.<br/><br/>The Election Commission has also sought the Centre's response on the objection of opposition and asked Cabinet Secretary to respond by 10th of this month.
