The Budget Session of Parliament begins today, with the address by President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to a joint sitting of the two Houses. The Opposition is keen to raise the issues of corruption, high inflation and internal security during the session. Black money stashed in foreign banks, Telengana issue and appointment Central Vigilance Commissioner, CVC may also prove points for heated debate. Government on its part is keen to push its agenda with a focus on economic reforms. 31 bills will come up for consideration and passage and 32 others will be introduced. The Rail Budget and the Economic Survey will be presented on the 25th of this month and the General Budget on the 28th. AIR correspondent reports that the government has already indicated that it is open to the Opposition's demand to set up a Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC to probe the 2G scam.
