The Budget Session of Manipur Assembly began with governor's address. The Governor of Manipur, Mr. Gurvachan Jagat has said that the overall law and order situation in the state has shown sign of improvement. Mr. Gurvachan Jagat said people are now coming forward against the militant organisations who indulged in killing, kidnapping and extortion. The Governor said, under Suspension of Operation Agreement, 18 tribal militant outfits have already deposited 709 arms and 1493 cadres were lodged in 10 designated camps. An agreement was also signed last year with Kangleipak Communist Party-Military Council (Lallumba faction)., Altogether 112 cadres of the group have attended an art of living training programme at Pune as a part of rehabilitation and vocational training.
