Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has termed the Budget as revolutionary and said development of multi-modal transport hubs will help ease traffic congestion and bring down pollution. <br/><br/>The Budget 2017-18, has made a provision of two lakh 41 thousand crores rupees for the transport sector as a whole. This includes rail, roads and shipping. Mr Gadkari said, it is expected that an effective multi modal logistics and transport sector will make the economy more competitive. <br/>The Minister said, the budget allocation for Highways has gone up from 57,976 crores rupees to 64,900 crores in 2017-18. He said, two thousand kilometers of coastal connectivity roads have been identified for construction and development. He said, this will facilitate better connectivity with ports and remote villages.
