Budding J&K football players to undergo training in Brazil

Two budding football players from Jammu and Kashmir today left for Brazil for training in a club there. This is under the initiative of International Sports Academy Trust (ISAT) run by an Argentine in Srinagar. Musadiq Mehraj and Mir Abdul Hanan, both seventeen-year olds from Srinagar, will have a year-long training stint at Marilie Athletic club in football-crazy Brazil. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said at a function in Srinagar that it is a moment of honour for the state to see budding footballers at international level. He said such initiatives make boundaries irrelevant. The chief minister appreciated ISAT for nurturing budding talent in the state. The two youngsters are expectedly excited to leave for Brazil and train at the home town of world famous footballer Ronaldinho.A branch of ISAT was set up in Srinagar in 2007 by Argentine Juan Marcos Toria, a registered Brazilian football coach who has been providing training to young players of valley.
