In Bihar, Buddha Purnima celebrations at Bodhgaya is symbolic this year as the world heritage site Mahabodhi Mahavihara is closed due to lockdown  till June 1st in the wake of Covid -19.<br />'' <br />''Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree at Bodhgaya.<br />'' <br />''Mahabodhi Mahavihara chief monk Bhikkhu Chalinda said there will be no gathering on the Mahavihara campus.<br />'' <br />''Only 10 monks visited Mahavihara and offered kheer and civara( robe) at the statue of Lord Buddha in the sanctum sanctorum followed by chanting of 'sutra'.<br />'' <br />''The monks also offered flowers at the sacred Bodhi tree and held prayers.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The puja activities will be available on Facebook for other Buddhist devotees across the world. </span><br />
