In UP, Buddha Puja has been organised in Sarnath near Varanasi on the occasion of Kartik Purnima today . The holy relics of Lord Buddha have been put out for public display. A function has been organised to celebrate the 78th anniversary of establishment of Mulgandha Kuti Vihara in Sarnath, where Buddha preached his first sermon. Mulgandha Kuti Vihara was establised on Kartik Purnima in 1931 by Maha Bodhi Society of India. Buddhists from all over the world have converged to attend three-day function that has begun from last night by the night long chanting of Maha Paritrana Desana after Dhamma Puja by Buddhist monks. Administration of Ashtanagasheela, Deepdaan, Kathin Cheevar Daan and Buddha Puja is being held tonight.<br/> VOICE CAST<br/> ‘While the lakhs of devotees took holy dip on various ghats of Ganga, and the Gurudwaras are animated and bustling with religious activities, a grand festival was organised in Mulgandha Kuti Vihar where thousands of earthen lamp sparkle to mark the Kartik Purnima. The devotees from Srilanka, Japan, Thailand and other countries have thronged the Mulgandha Kuti vihar and took part in special puja today. They prayed for peace and tranquility world-over.
