BSP candidate from the Hoshiarpur parliamentary constituency in Punjab Bhagwan Singh Chauhan has declared a reward of 1 crore rupees for beheading Ramdev. He has declared the reward against Ramdev’s remarks for his alleged anti-Dalit remarks targeting Rahul Gandhi.

Chauhan had reportedly said that Ramdev’s remarks besides being anti-Dalit are against the whole women folk in the country. However, BSP National General Secretary, Narendra Kashyap when contacted by AIR correspondent denied that Chauhan has issued any such statement.

Punjab police has booked Ramdev for allegedly outraging religious sentiments of Sikh community. The Sikh organisations have taken exception to Ramdev's alleged act of placing a photograph of Sikh Guru on the floor while he himself sat on the stage at one of his Yoga camps in Talwandi Saboo in Punjab recently.

Jalandhar police registered an FIR, on a complaint, against Ramdev for deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class.

AIR Correspondent reports that Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee President Avtar Singh Makkar said, there was widespread resentment amongst the Sikh community over this incident and he should tender an apology without any delay.
