BSP suspends MLA over indiscipline

In Uttar Pradesh, the Bahujan Samaj Party has suspended party M.L.A from Meerut city, Mr. Hazi Yakub Kureshi for indiscipline. A Party press release said, Mr. Kureshi was suspended for his controversial and objectionable remarks against the Sikh community during the opening of a modern butcher house in Meerut.

BSP State President Swami Prasad Maurya said that Hazi Yakub Kureshi’s remark against Sikh community was a violation of party discipline. He said that BSP respects all religions and is committed for brotherhood in society.

Hazi Yakub Kureshi was elected MLA in 2007 from his own party but later merged his party with the BSP. AIR correspondent reports, Party National President and Chief Minster Mayawati has also instructed that Mr. Kureshi should not be invited for any party functions.
