BSP retains Dumariaganj Assembly seat in the bye elections

The Bahujan Samaj Party has retained the Dumariaganj Assembly seat in the bye elections. The BSP candidate Begum Khatun Taufiq defeated her nearest rival and Bharatiya Janta Party <br/>Candidate Prem Prakash alias Jippy Tiwary by a margin of 15thousand,8hundred and 42 votes.the total little more than 14 lakh votes polled in this ebye election The seat was vacant due to the death of then BSP MLA Taufiq Ahmed and BSP chose his widow Khatun Taufiq as the party candidate for this bye election. <br/> There were eleven candidates on this fray and the eight candidtes including Congress and Samajwadiparty candidites and all six independent candidates lost their security deposit.<br/> In this bye election the Bahujan Samaj Party Candidate Khatun Taufiq got 44 thousand 765 votes,BJP candidate Prem Praksh bagged 28thousand 923 votes ,Peace Party candidate Sachidanand Pandey got 26 thousand 336 votes and Malik Kamal Yusuf of Samajwadi Party bagged 21 thousand 914 votes and Congress candidate Ashok Kumar Singh who was placed fifth got 19 thousand 206 votes .<br/>
