BSP organises state level demonstration against price rise in Jalandhar

In view of the Nationwide demonstrations by the Bahujan Samaj Party against the price rise, a state level demonstration was also organised in Jalandhar, today.<br/><br/>Addressing the gathering, BSP’s State President, Avtar Singh Karimpuri while blaming the Centre for hike in petroleum prices which has a cascading affect on all the items of daily needs also blamed the SAD-BJP alliance govt in the state for imposing new VAT on commodities.<br/><br/>Demanding a Rs 25 lakh as compensation for each one who died in the floods in the state, Karimpuri said that compensation should also be given to those shopkeepers and labourers whose things had got damaged due to government’s irresponsible behaviour during floods.<br/><br/>Later, National General Secretary, BSP and Incahrge, Punjab, Narinder Kashyap said that by increasing the petroleum as well as cooking gas prices for the third time, the Centre has broken the back-bone of the general public who were already bearing the brunt of price-rise.<br/><br/>He said that by de-regularising the govt’s control over petrol, the Congress led UPA govt has shown that it is just making the big companies happy and doing little for the benefit of ‘Aam Aadmi.'
