In Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party today suspended its MLA from Muzaffarnagar, Shahnawaj Rana from the party with immediate effect. Party supremo Mayawati has asked that he should not be invited to attend party functions. Principle Secretary Home, Kunwar Fateh Bahadur told media persons at Lucknow, that the MLA's name has come to light, in a case of molestation of two girls from New Delhi who were on their way from Uttarakhand. He said five persons including two policemen have been arrested in connection with the FIR lodged on 22nd of this month at Muzaffarnagar against seven persons in this case. He informed that, the arrested persons were associated with the MLA and the policemen were deployed for the security of the MLA.
