In Uttar Pradesh, the meeting of senior leaders of the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party, BSP, including State Ministers, MPs and Coordinators is being held at the party head quarters in Lucknow. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the meeting is taking place in the back drop of controversy of offering garland of one thousand currency notes to the party supremo Mayawati.<br/>Meanwhile, refuting the charges of opposition parties, BSP leaders said, the earlier garland was prepared with the cost of 10 to 20 crores of rupees. Uttar Pradesh Bahujan Samaj Party state president has said the garland was prepared by 26 lakhs rupees donated by the party workers from the state capital Lucknow. In a statement issued at Lucknow, Mr. Swami Prasad Maurya has said that the opposition frustrated with the success of BSP rally was making baseless allegations against the party leadership.<br/>AIR correspondent reports that the Chief Minister Mayawati was garlanded with currency notes. BSP General Secretary and State Minister Siddique said the garland worth 18 lakh rupees was made from money collected from 18 divisions across the state.
