BSNL now in surplus of 672 crores: Ravi Rhankar Prasad

Union Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad in Varanasi claimed that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has recovered from the loss in the past 14 months and is now in a surplus of 672 crores. After chairing the review meeting of BSNL's Wi-Fi and other service in the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr Prasad in an interaction with the media persons in Varanasi said BSNL was in the profit of Rs 10,000 crores when Atal Bihari Vajpayi demitted his office in 2004, but when Narendra Modi became PM in 2014, he received BSNL at a loss of over 8,000 crores and now the BSNL was in profit due to efforts of their ministry. He also said that soon a Wi-Fi service would be started at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport situated in Babapatpur of the district and the service of wi-fi was doing well at Sarnath and Dashasvmedh ghat of the districts.
