Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is likely to launch its 4G service during the next financial year. <br/><br/>Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha said in a written reply in Lok Sabha today that BSNL plans to upgrade its network for 4G GSM services through tender. <br/><br/>He said, based on the outcome of the tender, BSNL will launch its 4G services progressively during the next financial year. Mr Sinha said, BSNL also plans to install 3700 Wi-Fi hotspots during this fianancial year. <br/><br/>He added, that BSNL has already installed 2526 Wi-Fi hotspots till June this year to provide wireless internet services. The Minister further said that Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has no immediate plans of launching 4G services.
