BSF steps up vigilance along LoC to foil any infiltration attempt

The Border Security Force, BSF, has stepped up vigil along the Indo-Pak line of control in Jammu and Punjab regions to foil any infiltration attempt with the routes in Kashmir receiving heavy snowfall.<br/><br/>BSF Director General Raman Srivastava told newsmen on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today that terrorists have various launch pads on Pakistan side of the border and they undertake infiltration attempts on almost on a daily basis.<br/><br/>He said, enough militants are waiting to infiltrate across the border. Mr. Srivastava said, appropriate protest have been lodged with the Government of Pakistan as this is a matter of seroius concern.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, an unidentified Pakistani national was gunned down by the troops of Border Security Force (BSF) today when he was trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory along the International Border (IB) in Samba district of Jammu region. <br/><br/>Troops of 182 Battalion of BSF, observed a suspicious movement near Khora Post along the International Border during wee hours. The alert troops cautioned the suspected person to stop but he tried to escape. The troops opened fire in which the ultra was killed. The details about the identity of the slain intruder are yet to be ascertained.
