Acting on a specific information, a BSF party today confiscated Fake Indian Currency Notes, FICN, amounting to Rs. 3,38,000/- which were being smuggled into India at Malda. The seizure was made in an operation conducted at Churianantapur border outpost in the wee hours today. <br/><br/>At about 03-30 hrs in the morning, a Special BSF Operation Party detected miscreants throwing a packet from over the Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence. On being challenged the suspects managed to escape due to darkness but one bag containing FICN having a total face value of Rs. 3,38,000/- in denomination of Rs. 1000×245 and 500×186 ? was recovered from the area. The seized FICN were handed over to Police Station Baishnab Nagar for further legal action. <br/> <br/>During this year, BSF South Bengal Frontier has apprehended six FICN racketeers recovering FICN face-valued at Rs.60,45,000/-.
