BSF foils infiltration bid after heavy exchange of fire in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, yet another infiltration bid from Pakistani side was foiled by alert BSF troops at Gajnansoo in Akhnoor sector of Jammu division in the wee hours on Monday. AIR Correspondent reports that the foggy weather conditions are being used by infiltrators to sneak into Indian territories.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports, taking advantage of the dense fog in the area a group of militants tried to infiltrate into Indian territory by triggering a blast to cut into the border fencing at Alfa Machel border post in Akhnoor sector.<br/><br/>However, BSF troops foiled the infiltration bid and managed to push back the infiltrators back into Pak territory after a heavy exchange of fire from both the sides which continued for over an hour.<br/><br/>Sources say that Pak Rangers also opened fire on BSF troops from across the border to facilitate infiltration of militants.<br/><br/>A massive search operation has been launched in the area to find out whether any militant has managed to sneak in. This is the fourth infiltration attempt along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) in a week.<br/>
