BSF DG to visit Gurdaspur, Indo-Pak border today

Border Security Force Director General DK Pathak is scheduled to visit border area of Punjab's Gurdaspur district along the International Border with Pakistan today to review the security setup in the wake of the terrorist attack there. Sources said, the DG is also expected to hold a meeting of BSF sector and frontier commanders along with officials of state police and intelligence agencies. <br/><br/>Mr. Pathak is also likely to meet senior Punjab police officials who oversaw the operation that led to the elimination of three terrorists on Monday. During the operation, BSF had sounded Punjab Police for any help required from the border guarding force for the successful completion of the offensive. <br/><br/>Giving details of the probe, Punjab DGP Sumedh Singh Saini said in Chandigarh that the terrorists who attacked Gurdaspur had come from Pakistan using Ravi river and apparently had plans to target one more area.
