Incidents like unearthing of 'underground tunnel' along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu division may have an impact on the ongoing Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) between India and Pakistan. This was stated by the Director General Border Security Force, U K Bansal while talking to reporters after reviewing the security scenario at Chilayari Post in village Chechwal of Samba Sector where the tunnel was unearthed.

Terming it as a serious issue, the DG BSF said that the Pak Rangers have been conveyed about the incident and the matter is being followed .

DG BSF did not rule out the possibility of more such tunnels.The BSF officials have also lodged a protest with Pakistan Rangers at the forward post along Indo-Pak border in R S Pura belt over the issue.
