A Border Security Force, BSF delegation, held a meeting with Pakistan Rangers from 25th to 28th of this month in Lahore. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said the meeting was held in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere. He informed that there was consensus that there has been greater adherence to the ceasefire along the international border since the last such meeting in Delhi last year. <br/><br/>BSF Director General K K Sharma stressed upon the importance of vigilance against cross-border infiltration to prevent terrorist activities and check smuggling in narcotics. Both sides discussed ways to strengthen measures to coordinate border patrolling on their respective sides and address each other's concerns in a time bound manner. The Pakistani delegation was led by Director General, Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Major General Umar Farooq Burki.
