A 3-day Border Security Force (BSF) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) region commander level border coordination conference concluded at BSF Frontier Headquarters, Agartala today. <br/><br/>In the conference, various issues like Trans-border crimes, terrorism, drugs, smuggling, cattle smuggling, infiltration were discussed. A 19-member delegation from Bangladesh led by Commander Mohd.<br/><br/>Habibul Karim while the Indian delegation led by Inspector General, BSF Meghalaya Frontier Mr.PK Dubey discussed pros and cons of issues pertaining to border management.<br/><br/>Aiming to enhance better cooperation, the 3-day border coordination committee meeting of border guards of India and Bangladesh began on 24 July, 2016. <br/><br/>IG BSF, Meghalaya Frontier Mr. A.K.Dubey told AIR that during this 3 days conference, various border issues between two countries were discussed. He said the permission regarding to erect fencing at 150 yards from zero point of border in 9 stretches will be granted by Bangladesh in due course of time. <br/><br/>He also said, Trans-border crimes issues have also been discussed and joint strategy has been evolved to control the menace. Apart from that, the major problems like; Cattle smuggling, Fence breaching, Drugs and Kidnapping were also discussed in this conference.
