<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">In Tripura, the Border Security Force have apprehended 23 alleged Bangladeshi smugglers from the Border outpost at Samarganj in South Tripura district on the intervening night of February 5&amp;6.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">According to the press statement issued by BSF, the smugglers, divided in small groups, crossed the international boundary to receive consignment of sugar from their counterparts on the Indian side.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The BSF personnel have recovered 125 bags of sugar weighing 6250 Kg and seized 17 nos. mobile phones in the possession of apprehended Bangladeshi smugglers.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">Out of the 23 Bangladeshi smugglers, 22 are from bordering area of Feni district (Bangladesh) and one is from Chattogram district.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Last year, a total of 5,49,950 kg of sugar alongwith 16 trans border smugglers and 27 vehicles were seized by BSF troops. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 2 lakh 11 thousand 124 Kg of sugar alongwith 34 trans-border smugglers and 14 vehicles have been seized by BSF troops.</span></p>
