Snapping three days of losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 149 points, or 0.8 percent, at 17,988 points on buying in fundamentally strong stocks, amid firm global cues. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange added 49 points, or 0.9 percent, to 5,414 points. In Asia, stock markets in Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and China rose between 0.3 and 0.8 percent. Japan's key index jumped almost four and hald percent.
