The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange opened 107 points, or 0.6 per cent higher, at 17,682, today, on emergence of buying by investors. Remaining firm, the Sensex stood 110 points, or 0.6 per cent in the green, at 17,684, a short while ago. Meanwhile, stock markets in Taiwan, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore were up between 0.1 per cent and 0.5 per cent, after fears eased that Washington would draft a harsh bill for regulating the banking sector.
