After paring some of its early gains, the Sensex still stood 141 points, or 0.7 per cent in the green at 19,559 a short while ago.The Sensex gained 197 points, or 1 per cent, to 19,615 in opening trade this morning amid a positive trend in other Asian bourses.Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan and were up by between 0.3 per cent and 1.3 per cent today. The US Dow Jones industrial average had gained 0.2 per cent overnight.
