The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange opened 95 points, or 0.5 per cent lower, at 18,400, this morning, on profit-booking after two days of gains, amid weak regional bourses. Later the Sensex remained largely subdued, and stood 85 points, or 0.4 percent in the negative zone, at 18,410, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The 30-share Sensex had gained nearly 120 points in the last two sessions. Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea were down by between 0.2 percent and 1.3 percent, today. Over in the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.2 per cent lower in Tuesday's trade, after the US central bank chairman said US economic recovery was proving to be uneven and frustratingly slow.
