BSE Sensex stands 53 points in red a short while ago

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange, which fell 93 points in opening trade, today, later recovered partially, to stand 53 points, or 0.3 per cent in the red, at 19,877, in afternoon trade, a short while ago. The market fell on profit booking, amid mixed global cues.Other Asian markets in China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Singapore were trading mixed, today. But in the US, the key Dow Jones Industrial Average had spurted 1.6 per cent, overnight, on stronger-than-expected economic data, and hopes for an end to Ireland's debt crisis.
