The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 56 points, or 0.3 per cent cent, to 17,197, in opening trade, today, on buying by funds in heavy-weight stocks. After paring some of its initial gains, the Sensex stood 41 points, or 0.2 percent in the green, at 17,183, in choppy trade, a short while ago.Other Asian bourses in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, China, Indonesia, and Singapore were trading mixed, as investors remained concerned about the global economy's outlook, despite a massive rescue package to combat the European debt crisis.
