The wide-based national stock exchange index Nifty crossed the crucial 5,100-points level in early Thursday morning trade while the BSE benchmark Sensex rose over 68 points to quote at 17195.Sensex was at up by 10 points at 17137 when reports last came in. Nifty was trading flat at 5082.Brokers said buying activity was mostly attributed to expectations of better quarter earnings.
