BSE Sensex rises 81 points in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose by 81 points in noon trade today and was trading at 16,921. The 30-share index, which lost 220 points in the previous session on Friday, recovered by 187 points, or 1.11 per cent, to 17,027 in morning deals.In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index gained 21 points, or 0.42 per cent, to 5094.In the Asian region, Japan's Nikkei rose by 0.58 per cent while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index by 0.23 per cent in morning trade today. In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1.90 per cent higher in the previous session.
