The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained over 191 points in opening trade today. The 30-share index, which gained 54 Points in the previous session, gathered another 191.23 points, or 1.11 per cent at 17,387 points. The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty also rose by 44.00 points, or 0.85 per cent, to 5,200 points.The Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 1.25 percent and Japan's Nikkei was up 1.49 per cent in the morning trade today. The US Dow Jones Average had ended 1.38 per cent higher on Wednesday's trade.
