The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose by 69 points in early trade today, on buying by funds amid a firm trend in other Asian bourses. The 30-share index had gained 285 points in the previous session on Thursday.The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange moved up by 27 points to 5,810.In the Asian markets, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 0.11 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei by 1.94 per cent in early trade today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.07 per cent in the previous session on Friday.
