BSE Sensex falls by 61 points in opening trade

The BSE benchmark Sensex fell by almost 61 points to 18,880 in opening trade today on emergence of profit booking at higher levels. The 30-share index had lost 120 points in the previous session.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty Index shed 26 points to 5,720.Meanwhile, in Asian region, Japan's Nikkei was up by 0.44 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index shed 0.67 per cent. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.26 per cent higher in Friday's trade.
