The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose by over 24 points to 17,024 in the opening trade today. However, it lost its initial gains and was trading at 16964, down by over 35 points when reports last came in. Similarly Nifty of National Stocks Exchange lost over 15 points to quote at 5072 in the early trade.
